Neuropathy Severity Exam Walkthrough

You will learn how to interpret and utilize the 1 to 10 sensitivity rating scale for the neuropathy exam, select the appropriate score to accurately reflect the patient's response, calculate the patient's total score and assess the sensory loss.

During the neuropathy feet exam or neuropathy hand exam, it's common practice to request patients to rate their sensitivity on a scale of 1 to 10 in order to evaluate the severity of their condition.

In this training, we'll go over what each score means and how to choose the right score to get an accurate reading of your patient's response during the sensitivity test. We will cover identifying the baseline tissues and determining the suitable areas for examination.

We will also provide step-by-step instructions on calculating your patient's total score and assessing sensory loss using the downloadable sheet provided below.

Additionally, you can download the Neuropathy Severity Score form template below, an interactive data-driven form that is designed to respond and update based on the inputted numbers or data collected from your patient.
