Feet Sensory Exam Reference Points

You will discover the importance of a consistent exam, and learn the techniques and steps of conducting a foot sensory exam.

Consistency is key during this exam, especially for re-examinations. Ensuring that you conduct the exam in the same manner every time is essential to obtain reliable results. Inconsistencies can lead to different scores or worsened outcomes, indicating a lack of improvement in the patient.

It's important to stay consistent with the areas of the foot being tested during the exam. In the training below we will provide detailed information on each area, including examination techniques, anticipated outcomes, and additional details.

To ensure accurate results, you will use the baseline tissue area as a reference and a sensitivity scale from 1 to 10 to determine the level of sensitivity. Additionally, we will introduce the necessary tools and equipment for the exam and offer guidance on explaining the scoring system to the patient.
